Acrylics are bold in colour, usually with an opaque finish. Due to their durability when dry, these paints are versatile in use. Owing to their nature, a textural finish can be acheived on most surfaces without the use of pastes; however, due to being waterbased, they can be mixed with a variety of components to varying degrees and effects.
